My Story,

For too long in my life I have struggled to live with chronic back issues. What started as a mild ache in my early teenage years grew into a pain that would leave me bed bound during my flare-ups. At only 17, I was being physically outperformed by my then 53-year-old father. While he would be enjoying the winter months by snowboarding as much as his work would allow him. I was limited by my back, only going twice a year to allow time to recover between days.

In 2018, my family took a trip out to Hawaii. At first this sounded like a great idea. Being able to get off of a plane and explore a beautiful island with my family. This would have been possible, if my back didn’t flare up to a point which brought me to tears. I spent the first two days of this vacation in the hotel waiting for the muscle spasms to ease up. I can remember thinking that it might be the end of vacations for me, as the pain I experienced did not warrant the flight out. Thankfully we flew out with my aunt, who has been working in the personal training industry for over 15 years. She gave me a few exercises and stretches, which ultimately allowed me to enjoy the rest of my trip. Little did I know, but this would be the start of my fitness journey.

After some trial and error, my daily levels of pain grew progressively more manageable. This only enhanced my experience in the gym and deepened my passion for exercise. With time, I was able to participate in activities which would have previously made me miserable for days afterward. This passion grew into a sport where I was able to push myself further than what was thought possible and led me to beat a powerlifting record here in Utah!

Now I want to bring this passion to the people of Salt Lake City. I am a licensed Personal Trainer with ACE Fitness and a registered competitor in the United States Powerlifting Association. Whether you’re just starting an exercise routine, or wanting to improve your flexibility and joint stability. I know that we can work together to accomplish your goals!
